Today we finished our 4 week long sailing class. We took out a 22' boat to the sandbar, which is a huge piece of Kaneohe Bay. It is covered with water, usually, but only as high as knee deep. Walking out to the middle is very surreal. You can see the ocean waves crashing, the mountains, the base, the bay, etc, but everything seems so far away. It's almost like you are in the middle of nowhere. Maybe it was just me...

Chinatown gate
Today I went to Chinatown with my roommate and some of here family as well as with some friends from work, Gary and Barb. We had Dim Sum (Dian Xin in putonghua) at Golden Palace on King St. The best part of that place is that all Dim Sum dishes are $1.50. The 8 of us ate all we could (at least I did) and it came to $50. Who says Hawaii can't be cheap?

Maunawili Falls
Today was a holiday for us. A group of us from work went trail running at Maunawili Falls. On the way back we stopped at the falls. It was a bit crowded, but it was still a good time. Besides the occasional ankle tweak, it was a fun and (somewhat) easy run. We ran into a guy whose dogs got the crap kicked out of them by a wild boar. It's too bad for the dog, but it is nice to see that some hunting is still a sport and not just certain death for the prey.
